Section 07 — About
A focused space, not a replacement.
This microsite is a thematic channel under the BandungBergerak umbrella, dedicated to developments in AI and their relevance to journalism. It complements — it does not replace — bandungbergerak.id.
The programme
The microsite is part of the Good AI for Journalism programme and is associated with a consortium of Icebauhaus, Labtek Indie, and BandungBergerak.
It functions as a space for information, literacy, documentation, open learning resources, and early experimentation related to the use of AI in journalism — more focused, more agile, more thematic than the main site.
Who it's for
- — Young journalists and people working in the media ecosystem.
- — Communication students focusing on journalism and digital media.
- — Educators, researchers, and communities concerned with AI and journalism.
- — A general public following AI's impact on the information landscape.
- — Participants in and networks connected to the programme.
Editorial principles
- 01AI is positioned as a tool for journalism, not a replacement for journalists.
- 02Content must be based on real practice, learning, or relevant references.
- 03We remain critical of both the opportunities and the impacts of AI on media and the public.
- 04All discussions of AI must remain grounded in the public interest.
- 05Humans remain the primary editorial decision-makers.
- 06Transparency is maintained in any material use of AI in content production.
- 07We do not celebrate technology for its own sake.
